Chelsea new man Alvaro Morata eventually played his first game for the blues yesterday at Singapore, and there have been lots of reactions from different quarters of the world.
However, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has praised the former Real Madrid striker after he made his debut in their pre-season friendly defeat to Bayern Munich.
The English champions were beaten 3-2 by the Bundesliga champions in Singapore, with Alvaro coming off the bench to set up Michy Batshuayi’s second-half goal.
And despite that his men couldn’t give him what he wants, the Chelsea manager was still pleased with the early showing by the Spaniard who joined in a club-record £60million move last week.
With no much time to adjust to his new team-mates after his arrival from the Spanish capital, the Spain international was still able to please his new Italian manager in a little period of time.
The former Juventus boss, speaking to the press after the game, said:
‘It is not easy to speak about the impact of Alvaro because he’s only been with us two days and he needs to work and find his feet, and understand our idea of football, but for sure he showed a great will and for us he’s a great buy.’
The player himself was excited after his first game for his new club and showed his excitements on his twitter page, adding that: ‘Now it’s time to keep working!!’
