Conte admits he Knows nothing over midfielder’s transfer from Chelsea to Manchester United

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has admitted he has been left in the dark over Serbia international midfielder Nemanja Matic’s impending transfer to Premier League rivals Manchester United.

The former Italy National team coach left the double Premier League winning midfield maestro out of his team for the recent pre-season training tour of Singapore and America, prompting rumor Matic would complete a transfer away from Chelsea.

Tiemoue Bakayoko’s arrival from Monaco seem to have rendered the unsettled midfielder surplus to Conte’s requirements at Stamford Bridge. Both Manchester United and Serie A Champions Juventus have been linked with the former Benfica midfielder, but a transfer has yet to materialize.

After the Blues completed their pre season tour of USA with a 2-1 defeat against Serie A side Inter, Antonio Conte was asked for an update on the Serbian’s situation and could muster only this response, ‘I don’t know anything about this. You have to ask the club (Chelsea).’

Antonio Conte earlier this week, had explained the rationale behind leaving the Serbian behind in London, saying: ‘The coach must be in total control of the dressing room otherwise there is anarchy.

‘If you (coach) lose control, anything can happen and probably you will be sacked in one or two months. If you (coach) are lucky three months.
