Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Conor Coady has put signed a new contract with the Midlands club to put an end to transfer rumours linking him with a return to Premier League title challengers Liverpool.
Coady, 25, came through the ranks at Liverpool before joining Huddersfield Town while Brendan Rodgers was the Reds manager.
The English centre back signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers from the Terriers in 2015.
Conor Coady didn’t have the best of starts at Wolves until the appointment of Portuguese manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
The former Valencia tactician changed his role from midfield to a three-man centre back and the player has not looked back since then.
Conor Coady has signed a new Wolves contract until the end of the 2022/23 season.
He has been in very good form for Wolves this season having played every single minute of the Premier League.
His form has been influential in Wolves’ run to the seventh spot on the Premier League table in what’s their first season back in the top flight of English football.
Apart from Liverpool, Conor Coady was also linked with North London giants Arsenal who are looking for a new centre back in the summer after a poor defensive showing with 37 goals in 26 league games.
