Club Chief: No, We Can’t Do This ‘Unrealistic’ Business With Liverpool

Mamadou Sakho

Even though Jurgen Klopp is trying to bolster his squad by bringing more players into his team ahead of a busy campaign next season, the Anfield club is also expected to allow some players leave so they won’t be ‘axed’ by FIFA.

One of the Liverpool stars that have been linked with a move away from Anfield is Mamadou Sakho. The French star is expected to be signed permanently by Crystal Palace after an impressive loan spell with the Eagles. However, it appears a permanent move won’t materialise soon.

Palace’s chairman Steve Parish declares his club cannot afford to pay £30 Million for Sakho. With this, it is unlikely that Liverpool can do business with Crystal Palace over Sakho.

The defender shone on loan with the Eagles for the second half of the 2016/17 campaign, but it appears Liverpool will have to find another buyer for the Frenchman.

Even though the France international is not expected to be a regular first-teamer too soon in the squad at Anfield, Klopp do not obviously want to let the player go too easily.

Liverpool Echo are of the opinion that the Reds would expect nothing less than £30million for the strong star.

Since Steve has tagged Sakho’s price tag as something ‘unrealistic’, the defender’s next destination could be AS Roma in the Serie A.
