Claude Puel protests after defeat against Arsenal

Claude Puel

Leicester City manager Claude Puel has protested the fact that a penalty was not awarded against the host team when his side lost 3-1 against Arsenal on Monday night.

The Puel side started the game in a very convincing way and got most attempts in the first half of the game. No thanks to Gunners goalkeeper Bernd Leno who stopped the Foxes from giving a bigger lead margin in the first half of the game.

However, the Foxes manager protested that his side should have been awarded a penalty in the first half of the game, alleging that Rob Holding handled the ball in the Arsenal box.

Puel said he is sad the penalty was not awarded in his favour by the referee because it would have changed the situation of the game.

According to him, an award of the penalty would have ensured a second yellow card for Rob Holding which would have given his side the upper hand in playing against 10-men Arsenal.

The Foxes had got a first half lead before it was cancelled by the Gunners skipper Mesut Ozil . The scoreline was completed by Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang who came in from the bench to deliver a brace.
