Chelsea Urged To Sign Star Striker Despite Morata Club-Record Deal

Former Chelsea player Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is of the opinion that his former side should bring in another striker before the end of the transfer window, despite having splashed the cash to bring Alvaro Morata to Stamford Bridge from Real Madrid.

Alvaro completed a move to Chelsea last month in a deal worth £70million and scored a goal during his premier league debut against Burnley.

And Chelsea hero Hasselbaink admitted that even though Morata is a ‘brilliant’ forward, the Italian manager Antonio Conte should bring in another striker in his ranks.

Jimmy who spent four years at Stamford Bridge where he scored 70 goals in 136 league games, was recently asked by Sky Sports about his former club and the summer transfer window, and he admitted reinforcements are needed in few areas.

According to him, even though Alvaro is a brilliant signing who has played and shined at big clubs like Juventus and Real Madrid, his countryman Diego Costa can’t he fully replaced in the team and Conte need to bring in one more player.

Conte has told Costa via text at the end of last season that he doesn’t feature in his plans at Stamford Bridge for the new campaign and that he is free to find another club.

The former Atletico Madrid forward has repeatedly made known his desire to make a move back to Madrid amid links with Serie A heavyweights AC Milan.
