Swansea forward Fernando Llorente has emerged as a target for Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window and the 32-year-old himself has confirmed that he rejected the opportunity to join Chelsea during the last January winter transfer window.
However, the striker has admitted recently that he would reconsider if Chelsea boss should come calling again when summer comes.
During the January transfer window, Chelsea Italian boss Antonio Conte has serious issues with his Spanish forward Diego Costa, and the Spaniard was on the verge of moving to the Chinese Super League in a big money offer. And Conte reportedly approached Llorente to come in to become his replacement, but he refused coming – and Costa didn’t move to China either.
The Swansea striker revealed that he decided staying at Swansea and join in the fight against relegation. He helped confirmed Swansea’s Premier League status for next term as he scored the last week in his side’s win over Sunderland.
The former Juventus player has worked with Conte at Juventus. Even though he hasn’t been too superb since moving to the English top flight, he is constantly improving and has scored 14 times at Swansea this term.
Chelsea are confirmed title champions and will be officially crowned after their last game against Sunderland on Sunday.
