Chelsea could be slammed with a two-year transfer ban by FIFA as a result of their inability to comply with the body’s transfer rules and regulations.
FIFA are reportedly carrying out investigations as regards to the allegations and once they found any irregularities in the Blues transaction policy, they won’t hesitate to impose a two-year transfer ban on the team.
Should FIFA eventually ban the West London club, Maurizio Sarri will be unable to add new players to his team in four consecutive transfer periods.
Though the ban will affect Sarri’s building process, its negative effects won’t be much because the Blues have numerous players on loan whom Sarri could recall back to Stamford Bridge.
At least 40 Chelsea players are currently on loan to different clubs across the world, hence, it won’t be too difficult for Sarri to recall five world-class players from their respective loan deals.
Who are the top five players that could be recalled from their loan deal, should FIFA eventually sanction the Blues with two-year transfer ban?
Mitchy Batshuayi
Batshuayi was loaned to Valencia not because he was poor but due to Sarri’s lack of trust in his ability.
The unlucky Belgian forward failed to convince Sarri of his ability during the pre-season tour and he was eventually loaned out to the Spanish side.
Batshuayi is presently in an awful form and reports are claiming that the La Liga side are looking to terminate his contract as early as January transfer market.
With FIFA’s hammer set to land on Chelsea, Sarri could be forced to recall the 25-year-old from his loan deal in January.
Kurt Zouma
Kurt Zouma was one of Chelsea’s most reliable defenders in the 2016-17 season but picked up an unfortunate injury which automatically prevented him from commanding a place in Conte’s starting lineup.
The Frenchman spent last season on loan with Stoke City but he was far from impressive throughout the season.
This season has seen the 22-year-old returned to form under Marcos Silva at Everton.
Considering numerous transfer reports linking Gary Cahill with a move out of Stamford Bridge, Zouma could be recalled into the team in January as a replacement for the England international.
David Luiz’s contract with the Blues is set to expire in August, Sarri could decide to bring Zouma back to Stamford Bridge in January.
Reece James
On loan to Wigan Athletic, the 18-year-old could see himself playing at Stamford Bridge sooner than expected as he might be recalled from his loan deal.
Should FIFA proceed with their decision to ban the Blues for four transfer markets, the young left-back is likely to feature under Maurizio Sarri next season, though, as a backup to consistent Marcos Alonso.
Mason Mount
The 19-year-old midfielder currently plays for Derby County in the Championship. He is in fine form for Frank Lampard’s team and he’s the best player to complement Sarri’s midfield setup.
As a reward for his excellent showings for the championship team, Mason Mount was handed his maiden call-up to the Three Lions this month by Gareth Southgate.
He is one of Chelsea’s most in-form player so far this season and it won’t be surprising seeing him get a recall to Stamford Bridge should condition call for it.
Tiemoue Bakayoko
Though 24-year-old had a forgettable debut season under Conte, Bakayoko – – who’s on loan at AC Milan — could be useful to Sarri.
With the recent rejuvenation that’s happened to Morata and Ross Barkley, Sarri is capable of helping the player return to form
