Chelsea star player Willian has been discussing being benched at Chelsea by Italian boss Antonio Conte. The 28-year old says though he respects Antonio Conte’s decision to keep him on the bench… he is not happy with it.
his season so far, the Brazil international has started just 12 games under the former Juventus boss and has made 8 substitute appearances – having lost his place to Pedro in Antonio’s classic 3-4-3 formation.
Even with the winger’s absence, the blues keeps sailing at the top of the Premier League table and currently boast a nine point lead ahead of title rivals and second-placed Tottenham.
And the Samba star has discussed losing his place to Pedro at the club, claiming he respects Conte’s decision – but he doesn’t like it.
He told Brazilian outlet Globoesporte.
“It would be more or less that [becoming a reserve]. Of course, no player likes to start the game on the bench, to be honest, I do not like it either. I like to be playing forever.
“But of course we have to respect the decision of the coach, you have to respect your team-mate who is playing.
“And when the opportunity comes, you have to try to do your best. This is what I have been doing, respecting the coach’s decision and when I enter, I try to do my best to help Chelsea.”
