Chelsea are now happy to allow Spanish striker Diego Costa leave Stamford Bridge this summer and are reportedly putting a £44 Million price tag on his head.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte told Diego at the end of last season that he is not part of his plans at the club for next term, and the player himself made it known to the press.

The revelations which the player made after as brought Chelsea to a weaker position in terms of negotiations and harmed their chances of getting a hefty price for the 28-year-old.

The Brazilian-born striker is expected to make a return back to his former Spanish club Atletico Madrid, but the Madrid club are still serving a transfer ban. However, they are still allowed to bring in new legs this summer, but won’t be able to get them registered until next January.

But it is understood that Atletico won’t mind waiting till next January transfer window to sign the Spanish striker, and are hoping to secure his services for something around £25M.

However, just yesterday, the premier league champions officially revealed that a deal have been agreed to sign Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata. And the Independent are now reporting that the the Stamford Bridge club want £44M for Diego so as to recoup some of the £71M they intend paying Real Madrid for Morata.
