Reports are claiming that Chelsea is preparing a bid for Paris Saint Germain midfielder Javier Pastore.
The move is set to happen during the January transfer window as the blues are keen on having the Argentine at Stamford Bridge.
According to the Daily Star courtesy of Get French Football News, Chelsea is ready to test PSG as they try to lure Pastore to London. Pastore is highly rated in France but so far this season has struggled for a place in the team under new coach Unai Emery.
Emery replaced former coach Laurent Blanc during the summer and since his arrival, Pastore has found it had to be a regular in the team. Though the midfielder has had a lot of injuries this year to contend with, it believed he does fit into the plans of new boss Unai Emery.
It is also reported that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has been keeping a keen eye on the Argentine’s situation and is now prepared to make a move for the talented midfielder.
Apart from Chelsea, it is believed that the player is also wanted by other clubs and has even received a fantastic offer from the Chinese Super League. A club in Italy is also reported to have made contact with the hope of striking a deal and prizing him away from the French capital.
The report though claims that despite all his troubles this season, Pastore is still interested in staying at the Paris club to fight for his place but if the situation remains the same with Emery he could eventually leave.
