Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has revealed that Chelsea prefer to sign a younger striker with a proven Premier League experience over a transfer for AC Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain.
According to him, the Blues would have preferred to sign Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson rather than Argentine striker Higuain.
Dharmesh Sheth spoke about Chelsea, Callum Wilson and Gonzalo Higuain on the Transfer Talk podcast as he said that Higuain does not have a resale value because of his age (31) unlike what’s obtainable with the aforementioned Wilson.
Callum Wilson has been a top transfer target for Chelsea though recent reports claimed that the Cherries have slapped a £75m asking price on the 26-year-old England international striker.
Chelsea are not the only club interested in Callum Wilson following the interests of the Premier League duo of West Ham United and Everton.
The Blues are on the verge of signing Gonzalo Higuain on loan until the end of the season with an option to buy him outrightly at the end of his loan spell.
Higuain is on a season-long loan deal at AC Milan from Juventus having joined last summer and he has already told the seven-time champions that he wants to leave the club.
