Europa League champions Chelsea have started to feel the aftereffects of the two-window transfer ban slammed on the club by world football’s governing body FIFA.
The Blues were disciplined for irregularities in the signing of players under the age of 18, but it must be pointed out that the West Londoners have submitted an appeal against the ruling at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) after FIFA’s Appeal Committee denied their request to have the ban overturned.
For now, Chelsea can’t sign new players until the CAS give their verdict and that may affect them in their pursuit of Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho.
According to The Sun, French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) are closing in on a move for the Brazilian international player.

Chelsea see the €100m-rated Coutinho as their first choice replacement for Eden Hazard, but they face a big fight to see their wish of signing him come through.
Eden Hazard has already left the club for Spanish giants Real Madrid, thus leaving a big hole in the Chelsea squad.
