Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has been charged by the English FA after the touchline fracas that marred the Premier League game with Burnley on Monday night.
The touchline fracas involving Sarri took place towards the end of the game which ended in a 2-2 draw.
Sarri, 60, was sent to the stands by center referee Kevin Friend after the touchline fracas.
After the game, Chelsea’s assistant manager Gianfranco Zola told reporters that Sarri was offended by one of the staff on the Burnley team.
Maurizio Sarri has until 6 pm (local time) to respond to the FA Charge of misconduct.
The Italian tactician is facing a touchline ban potentially depending on the outcome of the charge.
Sarri saw his Chelsea side fail to take a big step towards securing a top-four place on the Premier League table.
Chelsea came from a goal down to play a 2-2 draw against the Clarets.
Burnley took the lead courtesy a well taken shot from Republic of Ireland international Jeff Hendrick.
The goal came as early as the eighth minute before Chelsea struck two goals in two minutes through N’Golo Kante and Gonzalo Higuain who ended a run of six league games without a goal.
Ashley Barnes scored the equalizer for the visitors after 24 minutes and that proved to be the last goal of the game.
