Chelsea have been delivered a major boost in their pursuit of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, after club president admits the defender might move elsewhere.
The Senegalese defender has been linked with a move to the Stamford Bridge since last summer transfer window, with reports that the Blues tried to sign during the last summer window.
There are speculations that Chelsea have retained their interest in the defender and will move for him next summer, as Antonio Conte hopes to look for reinforcements next summer.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has now given Chelsea a major boost after admitting that Koulibay could move next summer, and he will not stand in the way of a potential deal.
He told Gazzetta dello Sport, : “If there’s a new offer from Chelsea for Koulibaly?
“It will depend on the player’s will, because if he doesn’t want to stay then he can leave.”
It is understood that Chelsea will have to break the bank to sign the Napoli defender, with strong indications that they will need to dole out a fee around £60million to lure him to the Stamford Bridge.
Koulibaly, known for his solid physical strength, has played 34 times for the Serie A side this season and there are reports that he fancies a move to the Premier League
