Chelsea are yet to make a major signing this summer, but it appears the status quo is changing any moment from now with the signing of Juventus’ Alex Sandro getting closer.
The Brazilian has emerged as a target for the Stamford Bridge club, and his Italian club have recently confirmed to have received an offer for him.
It is also understood that the Champions League finalists are already closing in on a replacement for the Samba star as they prepare for his departure.
The Blues have been strongly linked with a move for Sandro and he has been identified as a huge upgrade on Marcos Alonso despite the Spaniard’s superb maiden season at Chelsea.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte desire improving his squad this summer ahead of a busy campaign next season. The Italian manager believes Sandro can help his side compete with other top European clubs in the Champions League and also defend their Premier League title.
According to reports, Chelsea have had two previous bids rejected, but their new £55 million offer could be enough to persuade Juventus into selling Sandro.
And Juventus director general Beppe Marotta confirmed that ‘A substantial offer’ has arrived for the player.
Globoesporte also revealed that the Turin club are already bracing themselves to lose Alex and are in advanced talks with Nice to sign Dalbert Henrique as a replacement.
