Premier League giants Chelsea have discovered how much it will take to price one of their defensive targets away from his club.
FC Porto defender Eder Militao has emerged as one of the Blues’ major targets ahead of the upcoming transfer window scheduled to begin as from the 1st of January.
The 20-year-old has impressed for FC Porto in his first season in Europe.
He joined the Portuguese champions from Brazilian Serie A side Sao Paulo in the summer and has made 13 appearances for his new club in all competitions.
His form for FC Porto led to a call-up to the Brazilian national team setup under the guidance of manager Tite.
Eder Militao made his debut for the Selecao in an international friendly win over El Salvador in September.
He has impressed for FC Porto in the middle of the defense despite the fact that he started his career at right-back.
The Brazilian can also play as a defensive midfielder.
Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Manchester United are also interested in the young defender.
Both teams will need to come up with the £40m release clause in his FC Porto contract with the club unwilling to accept any transfer fee below that.
