Chelsea fans to receive £200 and a ticket refund after Liverpool travelling woes

Defending champions Chelsea earned a well deserved draw at Anfield last weekend after falling behind to former Chelsea forward and current Premier League top scorer Mohammed Salah strike in the 65th minute only for super-sub Willian to rescue his side with a wonder goal five minutes away from fulltime.

However, despite the two heavyweight sharing the spoils, some Chelsea supporters who were on the Thomas Book Sport shuttle bus to Liverpool South Parkway station encountered some delay, which resulted in them missing their train back home, as confirmed by the Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, the club has apologized to affected fans and have promised to investigate the incident and will also compensate those affected accordingly.

In a statement released on the official Chelsea social media platform twitter, it reads;

“Chelsea Football Club would like to apologise to those supporters who experienced problems returning home from Liverpool via official club transport on Saturday night,”

“We are continuing to investigate the issue with our travel partner Thomas Cook Sport and will be compensating supporters for the inconvenience caused by the late arrival of coaches from Anfield to Liverpool South Parkway station.

“We will be jointly refunding each supporter who missed the train £200, plus the cost of their match ticket.

“Delays for fans were caused by two of the five coaches from Anfield arriving at the railway station after the scheduled train departure, which we were unable to delay.

“The club has already received correspondence from some of those affected, and would welcome further observations.

“We will continue to review the process alongside Thomas Cook Sport to ensure these problems are not encountered in future.

“Once again, we would like to apologise to all those supporters affected, and thank you for your patience while we have been working on the above arrangements.”

Chelsea who currently sit third on the log with 26 points and are eleven points adrift current Premier League leaders Manchester City who are looking unstoppable at the moment and have only dropped just two points so far this season. However, Pep Guardiola’s men struggled against Southampton last night and Chelsea fans who have favoured BETTING OLINE now know that the League isn’t over just yet.

The champions of England will be hoping to placate fans who missed their train back home after the draw at Anfield with a win on Wednesday night as they host a struggling Swansea side at the Bridge.

The Blues travel away to struggling West Ham on the 9th of December and will be hoping to avoid a repetition of what happened at Anfield.
