According to reports, Chelsea would have to pay £25million to complete the transfer of Spurs forward Fernando Llorente, as reported by Matt Law of British Publication the Telegraph.
Chelsea linked with Llorente again
The reigning Premier League Champions have been linked strongly with a couple of strikers this month, with the Spaniard emerging as one of their recent targets.
Carrol, Crouch, and Giroud also linked
Recently, the Times linked the Blues with surprise interest in England international duo of Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch, while reports have also stated they’ve been in contact with Arsenal over striker Olivier Giroud.
High Spurs demand
Still, it the transfer will apparently cost the Blues £25million, which looks a bit on the high side for a player who’s been the second choice at Tottenham and made little impact when he has been called upon.
The forward impressed for former side Swansea City last term but doesn’t really look top four material considering his performances this campaign.
Back-up required at Stamford Bridge
Antonio Conte’s side, however, does seem to be in the transfer market for a backup striker rather than a first-choice forward, with summer signing Alvaro Morata presently occupying that position in the squad.
The Spain striker could be a decent transfer option coming from the substitute bench but we’ll wait and see how much they would pay to secure his signature.
