Carrick not interested in Mourinho’s job but want this to happen

Micheal Carrick

Manchester United assistant manager Michael Carrick had earlier refuted the claims that he wants manager Jose Mourinho’s job but that does not stop him from desiring to go as far as his boss.

With speculations that the Portuguese manager could be sacked as United’s manager following his poor run this season, there are reports that his assistant will want to take over which has been refuted by Carrick.

The 37-year-old who retired earlier this year was immediately handed the opportunity to serve as an assistant to the former Chelsea boss. He is already settling fast and becoming a figure at the Old Trafford.

However, the United legend nurses big ambition of going as far and big as he can in his managerial career despite starting small as an assistant.

Carrick who is enjoying the experience said he has been given an unbelievable opportunity by his boss to make an impact at his former side but maintained he will not be carried away.

He vowed to go through the steps accordingly and put in some hard work and attitude he had exhibited as a player in his managerial career.

United are at the moment, not in good shape but the win against Newcastle seem to have placed them in a position to bounce back with their game against Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge expected to hand a statement about the position of the team.
