As reported by the Sun, Arsenal have offered Chilean Alexis Sanchez another contract worth £14.3m-per-season and, together with the lure of remaining in London, will be sufficient to influence him to commit his future to the club.
As you’ll all know at this point, Sanchez is in the last year of his contract, and the Gunners have yet to persuade him to sign a contract despite holding long chats with his agent.
Sanchez, 28, seemed to drop a great indication at the weekend that he was hoping to leave the Emirates after telling reporters in Chile that he had settled on a choice over his future and needed to be playing in the Champions League.
Apparently, the Gunners can’t offer him that for at least the next season, but the Chilean did concede that the final decision rests with Arsenal Chiefs and it appears Arsenal haven’t given up hope of persuading him to remain and sign a new contract.
The Sun declared Arsenal have now tabled a new contract offer worth £14.3m-yearly, which equates to about £275,000-weekly, and no doubt the new deal will also include various add on bonuses to take his weekly wage even higher.
The Chilean is thought to be asking for a lot more, but the publication says Arsenal know how settled the forward is in London and hope this will help lure him to sign a new contract.
