Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin reportedly turned down the overtures of English Premier League (EPL) rivals Manchester City to sign a new deal with his North London side thus endearing himself to the hearts of club fans.
Bellerin has a huge admirer in Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola but the former Barcelona Academy player opted to sign a new long term contract with Arsene Wenger’s side according to report from popular English outlet Guardian.
With the contract he recently signed at Arsenal, the 21-year old right back failed to follow in the footsteps of former Arsenal stars like Gael Clichy, Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor, Kolo Toure, Samir Nasri and Bacary Sagna, who have moved to Manchester City over the last decade.
The 21-year old right back has been a solid performer for the Gunners since he broke into the starting XI at the start of the 2014/15 season despite the summer signing of French defender Mathieu Debuchy from Ligue 1 side Lille Metropole. Bellerin, who is a Spanish international and is expected to be in the Arsenal squad to face Manchester City in a Week 17 fixture at the Etihad Stadium, has helped Arsenal to the top 4 alongside the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham and Manchester City.
