Bournemouth have signed England international striker Dominic Solanke from Premier League leaders Liverpool to boost their squad ahead of the second half of the season.
The Cherries announced the arrival of the player on Friday evening with various reports in the British media claiming that the transfer fee involved is £19m.
He has signed a long-term contract at the Vitality Stadium.
This makes him the third most expensive signing in the history of the club after Jefferson Lerma and Nathan Ake.
Dominic Solanke exits Liverpool after he was deemed surplus to requirements.
The 20-year-old has not played for the Liverpool team this season.
Solanke joined the Reds at the start of last season on a free transfer from Chelsea and he went on to make 27 appearances for the Reds in the last campaign including 21 league games.
Dominic Solanke found the back of the net for Liverpool in the final Premier League game of last season and also provided an assist for his goal contributions in those league games.
He’s expected to replace Jermaine Defoe at Bournemouth with the veteran striker on the verge of joining Scottish Premier League giants Rangers on loan.
Defoe will link up with former England teammate Steven Gerrard at the Scottish club.
