Barcelona Set Sights On Signing Man United Longterm Target

Antoine Griezmann

Barcelona are reportedly considering an audacious swoop for Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann, should Neymar leave the Camp Nou.

The Frenchman was close to a Manchester United move earlier this summer before a transfer ban scuppered the deal as the 26-year-old opted to sign a new deal with Atleti.

Barca are wary about losing Neymar to Paris Saint Germain this summer and have identified several targets to replace the Brazilian, with reports that the forward could complete his move to the French club by next Monday or Tuesday.

Reports in Spanish outlet, Marca have claimed that the Catalan giants have added Griezmann to their long list of players that could replace Neymar at Camp Nou.

The report also claim that the French forward has a release clause of 100 million euros in his newly signed contract and Barcelona are ready to trigger the deal.

Although, it is understood that Antoine Griezmann does not want to leave the Vicente Calderon this summer and fancies a move to Manchester United next summer, which means Barca will have to wait till the next January transfer window when Atletico can sign an ideal replacement for the player.

United boss Jose Mourinho has not revealed whether the club will move for Griezmann in the next transfer window after completing a massive deal for Romelu Lukaku this summer.
