Last week Saturday, after Tottenham thrashed Bournemouth 4-0 at White Hart Lane, many Tottenham fans were praying silently for Chelsea to lose their game the day after. And when they heard that the blues number one goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois would miss the game at Old Trafford, they were really delighted.
According to rumours, the Belgian goalie injured his ankle while filming a commercial in which he played basketball.
And so, Chelsea were left with no other choice but to do without him in their 2-0 defeat against Man United on Sunday with Asmir Begovic in goal.
Tottenham fans are all excited that the points behind the league leaders have been reduced to just four after the loss and after their own win. And the attention is now on Saturday’s FA Cup semifinal clash against Chelsea.
And once again, it appears Tottenham fans now have another reason to be excited again, as The Mirror reported that the Chelsea goalkeeper is prepared to miss his side’s FA Cup semi-final game at Wembley on Saturday.
And not just that. It was also added that Chelsea’s left-back Marcos Alonso will also miss the game due to injury.
Courtois is actually one of the best goalkeepers in the world currently, and his absence at a big game against Spurs on Saturday will obviously be a big blow to Chelsea’s hopes of winning the FA Cup this season.
