Arsenal embattled manager Arsene Wenger is hoping that star player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be fit and also ready for his side’s Premier League clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday lunchtime.
The talented midfielder suffered a minor knee problem during the Gunners surprise 2-1 loss to visitors Watford at The Emirates on last Tuesday night.
Nevertheless, French boss Arsene Wenger is expecting the midfielder to be available for Saturday’s clash with the Blues who are titles leaders in west London.
When he was asked if Oxlade-Chamberlain is a doubt for the game on Saturday, Arsene Wenger told his post-match news conference at The Emirates:
“No, I don’t think so. I think he should be alright. He got a kick on his knee, yes.”
The manager also confirmed that his midfielder Aaron Ramsey is prepared to be sidelined after he suffered a calf injury in the first half of his team’s 2-1 loss to Watford.
“It’s a calf strain. I don’t know how long he will be out for, but it’s a calf strain.” he added.
Arsenal are now third in the premier league table and will be heading into the game searching for a victory that can help narrow the gap down to the Premier League leaders down to six points.
The north London club are currently nine points behind in-form Chelsea ahead of the crunch clash.
