According to reports, Arsenal are willing to sell defender Shkodran Mustafi in the next couple of days so long as they can recover the £34million they spent on the German last summer.

The Germany international defender has divided opinion amongst Gunner fans since joining the Emirate club last summer, and injury worries disrupted his first season in the Premier League.

Mustafi, 25, struggled in the second-stanza of last season after sustaining an injury before December and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has failed to rule out a shocking exit before Thursday’s summer transfer deadline.

Inter Milan and Juventus have been monitoring his situation closely, and the Daily Mirror is reporting that Arsenal are now considering cashing in on the German.

Serie A giant Inter hope to seal a loan move to make it permanent next summer, and it is reported that the Gunners will permit him to go if they can recoup his transfer fee.

England international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also expected to leave the club before the window closes – Liverpool are watching closely, but Premier League Champions Chelsea are thought to be frontrunners to sign the attacking midfielder.

Despite the imminent departure of two first-team players, the Gunners are not expected to do any more business, although they are still watching the situation of Virgil van Dijk closely after he submitted an official transfer request.
