Arsenal to miss out on 21-year-old stopper

Freddie Woodman

The recent result from the North London side Arsenal, especially the 5-1 defeat suffered to Premier League leaders Liverpool has made the club intensify efforts in securing a new goalkeeper.

The Gunners last season had little defensive crisis which was why new manager Unai Emery ensured the signature of German Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen stopper Bernd Leno in the summer.

The German stopper therefore brought about the competition in the Arsenal team for the goal post which yielded result as Petr Cech started the season on a very high note before he was injured along the line and had to make way for Leno as first team goalkeeper.

However, the former Bayer Leverkusen has been criticized on few occasions by pundits as not being good enough and not a better option to the former Chelsea goalkeeper.

This, therefore, might have gotten to the former PSG boss as he wishes to bring in Newcastle United goalkeeper Freddie Woodman in this winter transfer window.

But that might not happen anymore with Leeds United reported being few steps from agreeing to a loan deal for the 21-year-old.

Reports according to The Bristol Post claim that Freddie Woodman is likely to be a Leeds United player until the end of the season.
