North London side Arsenal have been linked with a move for young English goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, who currently plays for struggling English Premier League (EPL) side Sunderland but the Gunners will have to see off other interest clubs such as Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton.
As reported by London Evening Standard, Arsenal are targeting a move for the 22-year old in the January transfer window, which opens on the 1st of January, 2017, mainly due to the concerns over the immediate future of the Gunners’ first choice goalkeeper Petr Cech at the 11-time English FA Cup champions following a slight dip in form.
Sunderland are not in a hurry to sell with the club struggling for survival in the league due to that he is one of the most important players in their bid to escape relegation in addition to signing a new deal at the North East club around a year ago with his current deal expected to last until 2020.
Aside from being one of the most important players, Jordan Pickford has been one of the best goalkeepers in the league.
For Arsenal to get their man they will have beat top English clubs to the transfer with a potential transfer scramble likely to start for the former England U21 international.
