Arsenal have been hit with a massive transfer blow following reports that Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri has agreed to personal terms with Roma.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was pictured in Southern part of France earlier this summer, sparking reports that the French boss was in his native country to discuss a potential deal for Seri.

However, reports in French outlet, RMC have it that Roma have entered negotiations with Nice about the prospects of signing the midfielder and have been given the chance to discuss personal terms with him.

The report claim that the Ligue 1 side are yet to agree to a transfer deal for midfielder and are holding out for his £35million release clause to be met while Romas have made a bid around £30million

It is understood that Roma are confident of landing Seri later this week after meeting with the player’s agent last Sunday.

Seri was a key figure for Nice, scoring seven goals and nine assists to help them qualify for the Champions League.

Arsene Wenger is understood to be keen on bringing reinforcements to his midfield, as he is not convinced about the performances of the likes of Francis Coquelin, Mohammed Elneny and Granit Xhaka in the central midfield position.
