Premier League side Arsenal are set to agree on a transfer deal which will see another first team player offloaded before the summer transfer window slams shut.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is preparing his team for a response to Matchday 2 loss to Stoke City which saw the Gunners lose ground early in the English Premier League title race.

The French tactician admitted after that defeat that his next plans was to sell players deemed surplus to requirement in the transfer market.

Arsene Wenger claims the Gunners hopes of bringing new players into the North London club rest on letting members of the current team leave, including contract rebels like Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mesut Ozil, and Alexis Sanchez.

And according to the top British tabloid, London Evening Standard, the North London club are now ready to agree on a deal with Spanish La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna over the sale of Spain international striker Lucas Perez.

The 28-year-old striker has been heavily linked with an exit for much of the current transfer window following a forgettable first campaign at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners are still discussing with Deportivo La Coruna over the appropriate fee, but the transfer deal is likely to be worth about £14 million.

The La Liga side are thought to have already made two bids which have been rejected by Wenger’s team.
