According to The Sun, Arsenal and Merseyside giants, Liverpool are ready to battle it out this summer transfer window for Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland.
Klopp wants Butland
The newspaper suggests that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants to make the shot-stopper the first choice at Anfield Stadium, with Stoke City rating the 24-year-old at about £40million.
The Sun reports that Liverpool goalie Simon Mignolet is set to walk away from the Merseyside club after holding discussions with the manager after his axe as number one goalkeeper, while there are doubts about Loris Karius also.
Wenger desire Butland
It is said that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wants Jack Butland to replace ageing Premier League veteran Petr Cech, who will clock 36-year-old by this time next term.
The Stoke City goalkeeper has shown that he is a consistent performer at the very top-level, and seems prepared to move on from the club, who don’t seem to be leaving fast.
Butland need bigger stage
The England international safe hand needs to be handed a bigger stage to display his talent, which has been made obvious from a youthful age, and Liverpool would be a good destination to do so.
Jurgen Klopp’s doubts about his present options come as no shock, with both safe hands lacking confidence in between the sticks.
