Santi Cazorla

Arsenal will be without one of their star midfielders on Saturday as they face Manchester United at Old Trafford. Santi Cazorla has stated he is still injured and returning to the gunner’s first team could take several weeks.

The Spaniard last played for Arsenal in their 6-0 win over Ludogorets at the Emirates in the Champions league on October 19 where he hobbled off in the second half after picking up an Achilles injury.

With the international break over Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger had hoped to have all his players fit and in top shape.

Players like Alexis Sanchez and Hector Bellerin got injured during the international break and will be assessed ahead of the weekend match. Wenger was hoping that he would receive some good news concerning Cazorla but the 31-year-old has ruled himself out for the United match and possibly several more weeks.

Speaking to Cadena

‘I still don’t know the exact time. I am trying to return as soon as possible to be with the team again, but I cannot say if it will be soon, or if I still have a few weeks left. That is what I don’t know, but hopefully it will be as soon as possible.”

It was initially thought that Cazorla at the time of his injury would only miss one match and his absence has had an impact on Arsenal. Indeed, Arsenal has struggled a little without the midfielder and will hope he will back in action sooner than later.
