Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas is a major doubt for his side’s game against Arsenal.
The Spanish star has been sidelined due to a knee injury, and also missed their 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town last Saturday.
Blues players engaged in a light training session on Monday as they recover from their last match, but Fabregas was nowhere to found, with reports that the midfielder is yet to recover from the injury.
However, the Blues still have an array of stars in the midfield area, with the likes of Mateo Kovacic, Danny Drinkwater and Ross Barkley still available for the game.
Fabregas, who once played for Arsenal, is understood to be ready to undertake a more advanced role under Sarri’s new attacking style.
In the game against Huddersfield, Chelsea played a three-man midfield of N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and Ross Barkley which was effective as they rode to victory in their first game.
Arsenal also have their own fair share of injuries, with the left-back duo of Sead Kolasinac and Nacho Monreal while Ainsley Maitland-Niles who started in that role against Manchester City, is also injured having pulled out of the game last Sunday.
Chelsea lost to Arsenal on penalties during a pre-season friendly game, but will hope to overcome their foes when they met at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
