Roma star player Antonio Rudiger seem to be destined to play at Stamford Bridge next season after emerging as a target for Chelsea this summer.
He has been heavily linked with the Stamford Bridge club, and just recently, there were widespread speculations that he had arrived London for a medical.
In a new development however, there are reports from Italy that the defender has undergone a medical in Los Angeles ahead of his €39 million (£34.2m) move to west London.
It is understood that after his country’s success in Confederations Cup campaign at Russia, the Germany international has travelled to USA to begin his holiday.
And according to Sky Sports, before his break begins, he will have a medical in Los Angeles at a facility approved by the premier league champions. It was also added that the deal could be completed before Thursday.
Rudiger’s club have agreed to accept €39m (£34.2m) from Chelsea for his signature, and it will see €35m paid up front including another €4m in add-ons.
There were reports in Germany that the 24-year-old will sign a five-year contract that will see him go home with around £85,000 each week.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has been so keen on bolstering his defence department this summer.
Top defenders like Leonardo Bonucci, Alex Sandro, and Virgil Van Dijk have also been linked with the club, but nothing seems to be coming out of them.
