Latest Reports: Inter Milan Planning Move For Antonio Conte’s Return To Italy

Antonio Conte

According to new reports from Italy (which might not be embraced lightly by many Chelsea fans), Chelsea manager Antonio Conte wants to leave the club and has begin negotiations for return to Italy.

It was said that Inter Milan’s owners have made an approach for the former Juventus boss, with some observers noting that Italy is sure better than England.

Suning Group (who are Inter Milan’s owners) have reportedly reached out to Conte to discuss a potential return to Serie A.

An Italian newspaper La Repubblica claims that Inter Milan want the Chelsea manager as they begin their summer overhaul of the club.

Of recent, Inter have parted company with the duo of Roberto Mancini and Frank de Boer, and the San Siro club are hopeful that Conte can bring some stability to the club.

The report also stated that Conte may consider a quick return to Italy, despite that his current contract with the Stamford Bridge club is running until 2019.

It was also speculated that Conte has a poor relationship with Chelsea club owner Roman Abramovich and could want to leave the club. The manager is disappointed that Abramovich is yet to allocate him funds to spend in the summer.

It was also added that Antonio Conte has been denied his request for additional coaching staff. We were made to understand that the Russian owner has denied Conte the six coaches he asked for – allowing him just three.

And even off the pitch, Conte is also said to be struggling on a personal level and misses his family who still live in Italy so much.

As things stands now, Intermediaries from Suning Group are reported to have already reached out to Conte.

However, his arrival could hinge on the ability of current Inter manager Stefano Pioli to secure Champions League for next season.

Even though Piolo is under contract until 2018,  he could be shown the way out if he fails to deliver a top-three finish in Serie A.

They currently sit in the sixth position on the Serie A table.
