Antonio Conte Gives Verdict On Key Chelsea Tranfer Target

Antonio Conte Gives Verdict On Asmir Begovic

Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic will be permitted to leave the Stamford Bridge this January, according to reports.

Reports in the Telegraph claim that Begovic has been given the green light to depart the Blue if they find suitable replacements in the transfer market. The Bosnian has been linked with a move to Bournemouth, with reports that Chelsea rejected an initial £10 million and a better deal is expected in the coming days.

Confirming a potential deal for Begovic, Conte said: “There is this offer and me and the club are waiting but it is important to find the right solution for Asmir, the club and me,”

Chelsea have set their sights on a number of reinforcements, with suggestions that a potential move could be in the pipeline for AC Milan goalkeeper Diego Lopez who is currently on loan at Espanyol.

It is also understood that Newscastle shot stopper Tim Krul is being considered as a potential replacement but might encounter a stumbling block as the Dutchman may not fancy a move to the Stamford Bridge to sit on the bench but might fancy a Premier League champions medal.

Begovic will hope to revive his ailing career at the Stamford Bridge, having joining them in 2015 from Stoke City and has featured in just 17 games since his move.
