After Chelsea knocked out Wolverhampton Wanderers to move to the Quarterfinals of the Emirates F.A cup, Antonio Conte has insisted that it is still too early to talk of a league and cup double despite his Chelsea team being eight points clear at the top.
Chelsea secured a 2-0 win at the Moilinuex stadium courtesy of goals from Pedro and Diego Costa in a hard-fought contest.
“It was the hardest game we have played in this competition so far for sure” said Conte.
‘In the league we are doing a great job in staying on top of the table and now we are in the F.A cup quarter final and I am pleased for this’ he stated after the game. It is important to understand the nothing is easy. It will be very difficult to win both competition but we want to try to win some trophies.
Chelsea midfield maestro Cesc Fabregas on making was also of the same opinion as that of the Chelsea manager, he said in an interview after the game at the Molineux stadium
“We are doing very well but nothing is done yet, we have to keep it going till the very end”
Fabregas who has had limited playing time in the Chelsea team this season amidst rumours of a possible exit reiterated his desire to play for the team and welcomed the idea of going as far as possible in the competition, if it means getting the game time he craves for.
“We have two competitions left and we want to go the end, and if that gives me playing time, I will take it.
Meanwhile, the Chelsea manager also congratulated Lincoln city on becoming the first non-league side to make it this far in the competition in over a century after beating Burnley, but expressed doubt of such a feat being performed in Italy.
