Former Barcelona superstar and Samba legend Ronaldinho, has talked about why he likes Wayne Rooney‘s style at Manchester United.
Rooney made history earlier this January with a goal against Stoke City that secured his status as Manchester United’s all-time top goalscorer, finally passing Sir Bobby Charlton’s record of 249 goals.
Different things are being said about Rooney’s situation at the Old Trafford club. While some thinks the striker will now depart Old Trafford over the summer – having met his aim, others belives that despite no longer receiving regular game time under Jose Mourinho, he remains happy.
Speaking to Four Four Two, Ronaldinho noted that the Englishman’s constant movement on the pitch deserves praise.
“Among the English, I still like Wayne Rooney,” he admitted.
“He has skill, shoots well and protects the ball. He is steady – never on the ground. I have always liked his style.”
It might appear strange for a player like Ronaldinho to laud Rooney’s attacking style. After all, Ronaldinho himself showed a sense of untouchable effortlessness on the pitch. However, Rooney too is known to gives off an aura of overwhelming strife and is a unique player in his own right.
One unique thing between both of them is that they have an unquenchable thirst for the game that is characterised by an unyielding sense of thirst for creating perfect moments.
