Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed contract rebel Alexis Sanchez is ready to play his first match for the Gunners this season this very weekend.

The Chilean was handed an extended summer break due to his FIFA Confederations Cup involvement and then later sustained an injury upon his return to the City of London.

However the forward is now fully fit and is available to be selected when the North Londoners travel to Anfield Stadium to play Merseyside giant Liverpool on Sunday.

Arsene Wenger said this morning that Alexis Sanchez has trained very hard to be fully fit and back again and is available for selection.

The French tactician, however, hinted that the former Barcelona forward might not play the entire 90 minute considering his lack of football action recently.

As well as being his first match back, this could be his last game for the Emirate club. The clash with Merseyside giant Liverpool is Arsenal’s final league game before the summer transfer window slams shut.

According to reports, Manchester City remains desperate to sign the 29-year-old forward and are willing to table one more offer for Arsenal’s Starman.

With his current Arsenal deal having less than 12 months to run, the Etihad club hopes the Emirate club could be lured into selling their most prized asset.
