Arsenal striker’s recovery receives major boost

Alex Lacazette

Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette has successfully had an operation on his left knee last Tuesday morning in London, as reported by Arsenal.com.

The France international is now set to be sidelined for some period of recovery with the North London club stating he should return within a month to six weeks.

The forward has endured a difficult spell at the club since his £52million arrival from Ligue 1 side Lyon last summer and a knee problem suffered against Spurs has further added to the player’s woes.

Knee problems

During his team’s North London derby loss at Tottenham Hotspurs, the Frenchman took on a knock to his knee, causing the player needing an arthroscopy.

During the week, this caused the manager a big issue as his team had no forward at Östersunds in the UEFA Europa League, with neither Gabonese Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or the 26-year-old striker available.

The North London outfit confirmed that the striker had a successful surgery on his left knee and he will now be out for four to six weeks.

England struggles

The former Lyon striker’s struggles in the Premier League were strongly shown last week at Wembley Stadium, as he missed several chances to draw the Gunners level.

The striker seems to be suffering from lack of confidence, not helped by the winter signing of Aubameyang.
