Arsenal are growing confident of landing Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette this summer after offering him fresh terms.
The Frenchman has been a subject of transfer interest from the Gunner for several windows, with reports that Arsene Wenger is a keen admirer of his skills and tried to sign him during the last summer but yet failed again.
Lacazette has now confirmed that he wants to leave Lyon this summer, sparking interest from several clubs in Europe, with Spanish La Liga giants, Atletico Madrid said to be ready to sign him and offer him a place in the Champions League until their transfer ban was upheld by a court of arbitration.
It is now understood that Arsenal are back in for the forward and ready to beat competition from Manchester United who are also believed to the race to sign the French forward after cooling their interest in Antoine Griezmann due to Atleti’s transfer ban.
Reports in the Sun claim that Arsene Wenger is ready to pay up to £50million to convince Lyon to sell their prized asset and also trying to lure the player with a £250,000 per week offer.
Jose Mourinho is said to be considering a move for Lacazette to his current squad as more firepower ahead of another Premier League season.
