New Liverpool star player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has made it known that the idea of playing under manager Jurgen Klopp was a big factor behind his choice to snub Chelsea for his new club.
Alex made the move to Anfield on deadline day after he turned down a £35 million switch to Antonio Conte’s Chelsea despite that he was heavily linked with the premier league champions for much of the past summer.
And speaking to The Times recently, the former Arsenal player described the decision to leave the Emirates as the hardest of his career. The 24-year-old however said he wants to get more out of himself and admits he was interested in having a firsthand experience with Jurgen Klopp’s management style.
The English midfielder notes he could have stayed with Arsene Wenger at North London and might progress continuously under the French boss. He, however, had the urge to take himself out of his comfort zone and get himself pushed up to achieve as much as he can in a team and a position he has the interest to progress.
‘That is why Liverpool shouted out for me.’ he admits.
The England international hailed Jurgen Klopp as a very inspirational and passionate manager who is always involved and intense, and he made it known that he needs a manager of that sort who can gee him up to be better as a player.
