Ibrahimovic keeps fans guessing as speculations over his future continues

The Swedish superstar continued to keep the Manchester United fans waiting after he appeared at a much anticipated advertising event in Paris.

F ar from the big reveal that some thought it might be, Zlatan Ibrahimovic refused to give little more than a few hints on this future when he answered journalists’ questions in Paris on Tuesday.

The striker was appearing at a launch event for A to Z sportswear in the French capital, and with the event being streamed live on Facebook, Ibrahimovic failed to deliver the desired answer with regard to the largest uncertainty; that of his next club.

Instead, when brought onto the topic of Manchester United, with a reunion with Jose Mourinho seen as a possibility, the 34-year-old remained as coy as ever.

“There is no confirmation [of a move to Manchester United],” he said at the event. “There is no saying yes, you will have to be patient.”

Ibrahimovic also humorously suggested that the people of Manchester could wear the sports brand he was marketing, and teased as ever when asked a second time about his future.

Asked about Manchester United, he added: “My future is A-Z. Follow A-Z and you will see my future.

“They will be wearing A-Z in Manchester also. Don’t worry — it is coming there.””

The striker’s future has been a subject of intense speculation after he confirmed he would be leaving the French club, by breaking the news on his Twitter account on May 13, followed by a statement on the club’s website.

Since then, the player had refused to comment on his next destination, also saying last week that he would only talk about where he was going when he became “tired” of the stories about him.

He led PSG to four straight Ligue 1 titles, and though he never won the Champions League in Paris, he said on Tuesday it was time to move on.

“If I wanted, I could’ve stayed five more years,” Ibrahimovic said. “There comes a point where you’ve done everything. Mission accomplished.”

With his future still uncertain, Ibrahimovic will now turn his attentions to representing Sweden at Euro 2016,
