8 goals in 14 games, this player could be the best solution to Chelsea’s problem

Maurizio Sarri

Former Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is reportedly set to partway with Chelsea after enduring a nightmarish spell at Stamford Bridge.

In his first season with the West London club, Morata scored just 11 goals. This season hasn’t fared better for the Spaniard who has scored just five goals from 14 League games.

According to Calciomercato, the 26-year-old striker is being tracked by Serie A side AC Milan and they are leading the race for his signature.

The Italian media outlet also revealed that Juventus are equally looking to re-sign the player who spent two seasons with them.

If the Blues must compete with Manchester City and Liverpool for this season’s Premier League title, Maurizio Sarri must have a proven goalscorer in the mould of Robert Lewandowski, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Aguero or any striker who could score 20 goals per season.

Lewandowski is not ready to dump Bayern Munich neither is Messi willing to dump Barcelona. Ronaldo recently joined Juventus hence, a move for the Portuguese superstar is out of proportion.

A move for City’s star striker Sergio Aguero is never going to happen in January as the Argentine is enjoying life at Etihad stadium.

Therefore, the Blues should move for Napoli star Arkadiusz Milik as Morata’s replacement.

The 24-year-old is a proven scorer but his stay at Napoli during Maurizio Sarri’s reign wasn’t a great one, no thanks to two ACL injuries which kept him out of action for most of his days under Sarri.

Having returned back to full fitness, the former Ajax striker has found the back of the net eight times with one assist.

Milik is a quick striker who easily get past his markers. He also gets into good goalscoring positions waiting for the ball from his teammates.

Milik won’t be short of services at Stamford Bridge as Eden Hazard will surely provide much of the ball for him to put into the net.

Milik is equally good aerially which means the Blues will have better opportunities to score from corner kicks and other set-pieces if they eventually capture his signature.

Milik won’t spend much time getting used to Sarri’s playing pattern as he already worked with the Italian manager.

A move for the Poland international might not be the high-profile move Chelsea fans are waiting for, but it is certain the Blues will greatly benefit from it.
