Anthony Martial

Wolfsburg have contacted Manchester United to ask about the availability of Anthony Martial this summer, according to reports.

The German Bundesliga side are the latest side to indicate interest in the French winger who has endured a frustrating spell under Jose Mourinho since last season.

Reports in German outlet, Kicker claim that Wolfsburg sport director Olaf Rebbe has called Manchester United over the possibility of signing Martial on loan deal.

The 21-year-old arrived at United from AS Monaco for a fee believed to be in the excess of 50 million pounds and went on to prove his worth, establishing his name as a prolific forward in the Premier League but he has not been to repeat his initial success at the Old Trafford since the arrival of Jose Mourinho last summer.

Despite his lack of chances at Manchester United, Martial has insisted that he wants to remain at the club with hopes of breaking into the plans of Jose Mourinho next season even at the expense of better attacking options.

It is understood that the Red Devils are also reluctant to let the Frenchman leave this summer even though Mourinho is keen on landing a new face on the left winger in Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic.
