Just last week, Arsenal completed the signing of Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette from Ligue one club Lyon for a club record fee worth £46.5m.

The latest signing has raised further doubts over Oliver Giroud’s long-term future at the Emirate club.

The thirty-year-old France international was already struggling for first team football at the North London club, playing just 11 games in the Premier League last campaign.

London club West Ham have been credited with an interest in signing him as they look to make a marquee forward signing this summer transfer window.

But according to Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol, the Hammers have now withdrawn from any move for the Arsenal striker after finding out they weren’t his preferred destination.

The striker has openly stated that his future at Arsenal is uncertain at the moment, but he also declared a willingness to remain at the club to fight for his place.

Merseysiders Everton have also been linked with a move for the former Montpellier forward along with French giant Marseille.

The Striker still has two seasons remaining to run on his current Arsenal contract after signing a new deal in January.

In Giroud’s five seasons in the Premier League, he has scored 69 goals in 164 matches but mostly comes from the bench during the most recent season.
