Tottenham Hotspur are ready to offer Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge the opportunity to stay in the Premier League at the end of this season according to the report from the stables of the Daily Mirror.

It was revealed that Tottenham Hotspur want to offer the England international striker a two-year contract for him to join them in the summer as a free agent.

Daniel Sturridge has less than six months left on his current deal with Liverpool who are reluctant to hand him a new contract as a result of his injury problems.

The 29-year-old has battled with various injury issues for the majority of his Liverpool career.

He spent the second half of last season at Midlands club West Bromwich Albion but the former Chelsea and Manchester City star didn’t make much impact at the Hawthorns.

Sturridge was powerless as West Brom suffered relegation at the end of the Premier League campaign last season.

Tottenham Hotspur might need a new backup for star striker Harry Kane and they have identified Daniel Sturridge as the man for the job.

Fernando Llorente is the present recipient for that role but his contract expires this summer.

Sturridge has also been linked with a move to New York City in the Major League Soccer (MLS).
