Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino gave little away when he was asked about the future of his captain Hugo Lloris at the club during a pre-match conference ahead of his side’s English Premier League (EPL) home clash with Welsh side Swansea City on Saturday at White Hart Lane.

Pochettino fielded questions about the 29-year old French international goalkeeper after the announcement that star striker Harry Kane has signed a new six-year deal at the club until 2022 as the Argentine manager disclosed that Hugo Lloris is happy to stay at the club.

As reported by English media outlet Evening Standard, Pochettino said the following when asked about an update on the future of his captain:

“Maybe in the next few days there will be more contract news – but not about Hugo. He is very ambitious but I can only tell you he is very happy, he wants success here and to stay here. That is his ambition.”

Hugo Lloris has grown to become an integral part of the Tottenham team since joining the North London side from French Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Lyon in 2012 and this is further highlighted with the outstanding performances he has had in between the sticks for his side this season culminating in the joint best defensive team in the English Premier League with just 10 goals conceded in 13 games.
