Bruno Fernandes

North London giants Tottenham Hotspur have identified Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes as their backup option for Real Betis midfielder Giovanni Lo Celso.

This is according to the publication from the stables of the Daily Mirror which revealed that Spurs will move onto Bruno Fernandes if they are unable to lure Giovanni Lo Celso from Real Betis this summer.

Argentine international midfielder Lo Celso has emerged as a top transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur during this transfer window with recent reports claiming that the Champions League finalists have made a club-record bid of £62m for the player.

Real Betis are reluctant to let Lo Celso leave this summer thus paving the way for Tottenham Hotspur to move to Bruno Fernandes who was in sensational form for Sporting Lisbon during the just concluded season.

The 24-year-old Portuguese international player has been linked with other Premier League sides like Chelsea and Liverpool.

The Reds could make a move for a new midfielder this summer with the Champions League winners crying out for a creative player for the midfield at times during the just concluded campaign.

Bruno Fernandes has a release clause of €100m in his current deal with Sporting Lisbon.

He scored 33 goals and also provided 17 assists for his club during the just concluded season.
